Overview of the Program

The Narconon program is a comprehensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that effectively handles both aspects of addiction; physical and mental.  The first half of the program cleans up the body using a drug-free withdrawal and a Sauna Detoxification program.  The second half cleans up the mind using a combination of cognitive (self-realization) therapy and life skills courses.

The Withdrawal Step

The first step of the Narconon program is the drug-free withdrawal. An individual will be medically assessed to determine it is safe to do a drug-free withdrawal (in cases where it is determined to be unsafe the person will be sent to a medical detox to “dry out” and then return to do the program).

The drug-free withdrawal program includes a regimen proper nutrition, vitamin therapy, light body messages and exercises designed to keep the person extroverted to alleviate painful withdrawal symptoms.   Graduates time and time again rave about how easy their withdrawal was using this program.

Therapeutic Training Routines Course

The next step of the program is a short course designed to teach the student to be comfortable in any situation and how to confront themselves and anything that may arise in their life.  Most people turn to using drugs and alcohol because of a lack of confront, whether it be the inability to confront themselves, their family or something that may have happened to them, therefore developing this skill is a vital step in becoming and staying drug-free.

New Life Detoxification Program

The next part of the program is the New Life Sauna Detoxification.  It uses a dry heat sauna combined with a specific vitamin and light exercise regimen to flush drug residues stored in the fat cells of the body.  These residues are a result of the body’s digestive system which converts any toxin into a protein based molecule called a metabolite that binds to fat cells in the body.  Whenever the person metabolizes something or these metabolites are released into the bloodstream and travel to the brain causing what is a physical craving for that drug.  These metabolites can stay in the body for years.  This process eliminates the physical cravings for the drugs and alcohol.

Learning Improvement Course

Next students move on to the Learning Improvement Course.  This course teaches students effective study skills that they can use for the rest of their lives and during the rest of their Narconon program.

Communication and Perception Course

This course is split into two segments.  The first is a series of exercises designed to increase a person’s communication skills and ability to confront difficult situations, skills many addicts are lacking in.  The second is designed to bring the person into their present time environment.  It uses Cognitive Therapy to not only do this but to help the person uncover the reasons they began using drugs and alcohol, thereby allowing the person to finally confront these issues, move on and using the skills they’ve developed in the program effectively handle any new issues that may come up without turning to drugs or alcohol.

The Ups and Downs in Life Course

Many addicts are pulled into a lifestyle where they do things they wouldn’t normally do because of their addiction.  They began to associate with people who supported their addiction and unethical behavior that came with it.  This course will help the student identify social and antisocial people so that they can develop positive relationships with people who will support their sobriety.

Personal Values and Integrity Course

This course is designed to teach the student about ethics, morals and personal integrity, all principles addicts tent to lose sight of during their addiction.

There is also a process by which the student can expunge his/her past transgressions giving the person a great sense of relief and allowing them to move on.

Changing Conditions in Life Course

This next course will teach the student how to continually improve the condition of their life.  They can apply this knowledge to their personal lives and to their professional lives.  It will give the student the tools to forever improve themselves, their relationships and their professions.

The Way to Happiness

The final course is a short course that lays out basic principles that when followed lead to productive, happy lives, principles of how to treat yourself and others.  Most of us learned these principles when we were y young but have forgotten due to years of drug and alcohol abuse and just need a reminder of how to live well.

The Narconon Program is an effective program that handles all aspects of addiction.  Narconon views addiction as a learned behavior not a disease you will be afflicted with the rest of your life and therefore one can simply learn new behaviors to be able to handle life without turning to drugs or alcohol.

Narconon’s success rate is over 70%.
